Adaston and PDS Partner to Deliver Gold-Standard Fire Door Installations
“When it comes to the supply of compliant, high-quality fire doors, Adaston and PDS have forged a strong partnership delivering an extensive range of certified solutions backed by exceptional products and service.
Working together across several major projects as well as smaller FRA works demonstrates that no project is too big or too small for the combined expertise of our teams.”
A Partnership in Practice
Adaston’s approach to fire door installation is rooted in quality, compliance and long-term performance. As part of their ongoing partnership with PDS, Adaston’s team visited one of their manufacturing facilities to gain a first-hand understanding of their processes and quality controls.
What stood out immediately was the consistency of build quality, something PDS rightly views as standard. During the visit, PDS’ Managing Director Tim Fairley met personally with Adaston’s representatives, reinforcing the importance both businesses place on strong relationships, transparency and shared standards. These principles continue to underpin how we work together.
PDS understands Adaston’s technical and programme requirements in detail, enabling them to deliver bespoke doorsets within an impressive eight-week timeframe. In turn, Adaston provides the specialist installation expertise required to ensure each doorset performs exactly as designed, protecting both the building and its occupants. This shared understanding and commitment to quality comes through the customer in every project we complete together.

Project Spotlight: Swindon Borough Council
Over the past year, Adaston and PDS have collaborated with Swindon Borough Council on the replacement of entrance fire doors across more than 200 council flats.
The project presented a number of challenges, including working within older building infrastructure while meeting strict requirements for fire safety, security and visual consistency. The client’s specification demanded doorsets that could integrate seamlessly into existing openings without compromising performance.
Following detailed research, Adaston identified PDS as the only manufacturer able to meet these requirements. PDS’ FD60 line of fire doors offers greater variety than other manufacturers, which proved critical to the success of the scheme.

As part of a pilot programme, PDS supplied twelve doorsets to the specification in a rapid turnaround time, allowing Adaston’s joinery teams to perform a pilot scheme of installation, developing key communication and installation methodologies. This early-stage collaboration provided reassurance to both the client and residents, setting a strong foundation for the wider programme.
This willingness to go out of their way to reassure a client, and put the customer’s peace of mind first, is a shared value between PDS and Adaston. Throughout their time working together, PDS have developed a positive relationship with Adaston.
