Case Study: Student Accomodation: Wembley

During the construction of a brand new 28 storey student housing project we were brought in to oversee the installation of passive fire protection on behalf of student accommodation specialist Scape.

This state-of-the-art building was started and completed within just 12 months and was 75 metres high when finished, making it the tallest modular building in Europe.

We were brought in to complete a compartmentation survey of the facility. Compartmentation forms a key part of the fire plan for any building and is an important part of the fire risk assessment process. Correctly managed compartmentation is a legal requirement and prevents the spread of fire and smoke, sub dividing buildings into more manageable areas and providing suitable means of evacuation.

We’ve been working on one of london’s most inspirational buildings and places for students to live and work. The Scape is premium student accommodation in London’s academic heartland in Bloomsbury.

Scape Bloomsbury is located at the University College London. The building has incredible ‘Scape space’ which gives students really smart, bright and is truly better than most places that students get to study and live.

Adaston were involved at the start of the redevelopment. We were responsible for the overall compliance of the building with the latest fire regulations and of course the sign off.
