Having completed passive fire protection surveys across all six sites we identified non-compliance issues and compiled an action plan to bring the buildings up to the required safety standard.
We found serious issues including numerous breeches in fire compartmentation where no sealing was in place around cable trays, pipes and conduits. These defects in passive fire protection increase the risk of fire and smoke travelling through the building rather than being contained within a fire compartment.
On one of the sites over 600 photographs were taken identifying non-compliance issues in need of repair. We supplied detailed site plans to show where the faults had been found and used these to monitor progress.
Once remediation work had been completed we carried out further tests and checks and issued a new report demonstrating that the buildings were compliant.
A project of this scale, across multiple and diverse sites, calls for an expert fire safety consultancy that can identify areas of concern and formulate a structured and cost-effective plan to bring the building up to the required safety standard. As well as having the knowledge to survey buildings for fire safety purposes, we also have the capability to carry out full remedial works for a complete service.
