Intumescent Paints
At Adaston, we use intumescent paint for steel, structural steel and cast iron. They are available with 30, 60, 90 and 120-minute fire protection to accompany fireproofing paint used on other surfaces.
The intumescent coating we use in buildings, ensure that materials are capable of withstanding high temperatures, therefore, making the buildings structurally safe.
Fireproofing Paints
Fireproofing paints are coatings that react to heat by swelling to many times its original thickness. As steel softens in high temperatures, the application of intumescent coatings assists with passive fire protection by protecting materials from reaching their critical-failure temperature and so preventing the collapse of buildings.
When using intumescent paints on structural steel constructions, important fire test standards conform to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
