Adaston has vast experience working on student accommodation. We have been involved in projects ranging from under 100 beds to the tallest modular build in the United Kingdom. This type of building presents its own specific risks including the user group, the sleeping situation and how the buildings are used.
We tailor our approach to this specific sector, ensuring any work is performed with full consideration of all staff and students.
The project was for the construction of a 26 storey student accommodation building located in Stratford London. The project consists of 445 rooms, 75 kitchens, common rooms, a café and artist studios. The finished building will be clad in unitized glass and terracotta panels.
During the construction of a brand new 28 storey student housing project we were brought in to oversee the installation of passive fire protection on behalf of student accommodation specialist Scape.
This state-of-the-art building was started and completed within just 12 months and was 75 metres high when finished, making it the tallest modular building in Europe.
Working for a developer we were commissioned to carry out a passive fire protection survey on a student accommodation development in Edinburgh’s Haymarket. The project comprised both new and existing buildings and we were able to identify areas that fell below the required standard, carrying out follow up work to rectify the failings.
